How to Post a Bond

Just In Time Bail Bonds is a licensed and insured bail bond agency. We have bail agents on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. So no matter when a Defendant needs help making bail, we are there just in time, anytime, all the time. Most importantly, we will provide flexible payment options for the friends and family of the Defendant seeking bail.

STEP I - Contact Just In Time
In some cases, the Defendant in custody will contact us with the names of relatives or friends who may be able to help the Defendant post bail. In other cases, the friends and family of the Defendant will contact our office directly. Our agents can be reached at (908) 259-5353 - 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year.

STEP II- Complete Paperwork and Provide Proper Identification
The first step in the bail bond process is for the potential co-signers to come into our office to fill out the appropriate paperwork. All co-signers require official photo identification (such as a driver’s license or a passport) and a copy of their most recent pay stub or bank statement. All co-signers must be 18 years or older. There is no set number of co-signers that may be required to post bail, however the more co-signers that sign the better the chances the bail will be approved: so bring as many as you can!

STEP III- Make a Down-Payment
A down-payment towards the premium is paid by the co-signer(s) at the time the paperwork is submitted. The Defendant and the co-signers can then pay the remaining amount due in easy installments. Payments can be made in cash, credit card, check or money order.

STEP IV – Bail Approval
Once the down-payment on the premium is received, and the bail is approved, we will send one of our bail agents to the jail where the Defendant is in custody. The bail agent will post the bail bond and the Defendant is then released, provided that he has no detainers (warrants or fines in other towns or counties). We will do our best to check for any detainers; however it is ultimately the responsibility of the Defendant and the co-signers to ensure that no detainers exist on the Defendant’s record.

STEP V – After the Defendant is Released…
Once the Defendant is out he or she must make all required court appearances. Within 48 hours of his or her release, the Defendant must check into our office to sign some documents and have their picture taken. The Defendant must check in with Just In Time Bail Bonds periodically during the duration of trial. If we receive notice of an upcoming court date, we will notify the Defendant and the co-signers of that court date. However, sometimes we are not notified of every court date. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the Defendant and the co-signers to stay on top of the Defendant’s case until the conclusion of the trial to make sure no court dates are missed. The best way to do this is to check in with the courthouse from time to time. If a court date is missed it could result in the forfeiture of the bail and the issuance of an arrest warrant for the Defendant.
